Vehicle Spotlight: 2017 Cadillac XT5
2017 Cadillac XT5
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the luxury. The all-new 2017 Cadillac XT5 is a new crossover that replaces the second-generation SRX at Tom Naquin and that redefines the segment with premium features and upscale quality without compare.

Along with the name change, the Cadillac XT5 has been totally redone from the ground up. Its chassis is lighter, its powertrain revised, and its design language overhauled. Thanks to the new wheelbase, it also has a more grounded stance than the SRX and more rear legroom.

Inside, the cabin appointments are nothing short of impressive, with cut-and-sewn leather contrasting with three different woods, aluminum, or carbon fiber. There’s the standard Cadillac CUE interface—upgraded with a faster processor—wireless charging, 4G LTE hotspot capability, and standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto all there to toy with.

As always, though, the most fun one can have in a Cadillac is behind the wheel. The standard powertrain is a very capable 310-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 matched with an eight-speed Aisin automatic transmission, which provides such significant performance as to make the XT5 feel far lighter than it really is.

Overall, the 2017 Cadillac XT5 delivers a handcrafted experience that will make you quickly forget that the SRX is no longer around.
